Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Summary:
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist is responsible for performing all duties necessary to facilitate the collection of patient account balances from account guarantors. These duties may include but are not limited to account follow up with insurance payers, contact with patients, guarantors and policy subscribers as required finalizing the collection of monies due to the facility for services already rendered. The AR Specialist must follow the defined workflow and the approved timelines for timely claim submission, review, appeal and adjustments.
Required Education, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to understand State and Federal collection rules
- Ability to read and interpret payer contracts to review accounts for appropriate payments and adjustments
- Ability to read and interpret Explanation of Benefits, Payer Remits
- Ability to calculate claims for expected Reimbursements and Contractual Adjustments
- One year medical billing experience required
